Online Safety Tips

🔒

Protect Your Personal Information

Never share your home address, workplace, financial details, or other sensitive information with someone you haven't met in person.

🔍

Do Your Research

Before meeting someone, search for them online. Look for social media profiles that match their story.

📱

Keep Conversations on the App

Stay on the Eros Dating platform until you feel comfortable. Scammers often try to move conversations elsewhere quickly.

🚩

Trust Your Instincts

If something feels off, it probably is. Don't hesitate to block and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.

Meeting In Person

1

Meet in Public Places

Always arrange to meet in a well-populated, public location for your first few dates. Coffee shops, restaurants, and public parks are good options.

2

Tell Someone Your Plans

Let a friend or family member know where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back. Share your date's profile with them.

3

Arrange Your Own Transportation

Drive yourself, take a rideshare, or use public transit. Don't rely on your date for transportation, especially on initial meetings.

4

Stay Sober and Alert

Keep your mind clear. Limit alcohol consumption and never leave your drink unattended.

5

Keep Your Phone Charged

Make sure your phone is fully charged before you go out so you can call for help or a ride if needed.

Recognizing Scams

Be wary of anyone who:

  • Asks for money or financial assistance
  • Has an excuse for never being able to meet in person
  • Professes strong feelings very quickly
  • Claims to be working overseas, in the military, or on an oil rig
  • Has inconsistencies in their story or profile
  • Requests you to move to a different platform immediately
  • Asks for your personal financial information
